  1. July 2026

    NewNew feature

Games, saved maps, and a secret project

MapGO Games arrived — quick geography puzzles you can play in the browser. Saved maps got clearer storage limits so you always know where you stand.

    • Save more maps on every paid plan, with your usage shown as you go
    • Founder Pass — a one-time lifetime deal
    • A rebuilt map toolbar with faster search
    • Something bigger is nearly ready. We're not saying what yet — check back soon.
  2. June 2026

    New feature

    The Workspace

The biggest release so far: a full map editor in your browser. Draw shapes, add your own files as layers, build buffer zones and heatmaps, then save the whole map and come back to it later.

    • Layers panel — rename, recolour, hide, zoom to, or export any layer
    • Undo and redo, plus keyboard shortcuts
    • Mini-map, live coordinates and a scale bar
    • Export your map as an image or vector file
    • All the distance and location tools, now usable directly on the map
  3. May 2026

    Improvement

    Mobile navigation

A proper menu on phones, so every part of MapGO is reachable on a small screen.

  4. February 2026

    Improvement

    New landing page and pricing

A rewritten front page that actually shows what MapGO does, with clear pricing next to it.

  5. January 2026

    Improvement

    Easier to find

Search-engine cleanup across the site. Old links now redirect properly instead of dead-ending, so nothing you bookmarked breaks.

  6. December 2025

    Improvement

    A new sign-in system

Accounts moved to a faster, more reliable sign-in provider. Signing up and logging back in is quicker and steadier.

  7. November 2025

    New feature

    The blog launches

Guides and worked examples for the geospatial problems people actually bring to MapGO.

  8. October 2025

    Improvement

    Polish and security

Tool panels became genuinely usable on a phone, notifications tell you when a big job finishes, and the site was hardened against common web attacks.

    • Consistent map controls across every tool
    • Sample CSV files so you can see the format before uploading
  9. September 2025

    New feature

    Bulk CSV uploads

Upload a spreadsheet full of coordinates and get every answer back at once, instead of looking them up one at a time.

    • Results tables with paging for large jobs
    • Autocomplete on location search
    • See how much of your monthly allowance you've used
  10. August 2025

    New feature

    The four core tools

Distance to the nearest border, distance to the nearest coastline, location hierarchy, and point-to-point distance — the calculations MapGO was built for.

    • User accounts, so your results are saved to you
  11. July 2025

    MapGO begins

First version of the site goes live.
